Good Morning All:

Apologies for the late night noise in the borough last night. Our emergency alert siren on Columbus Drive activated overnight completely on its own. It is no longer used for Fire or EMS alerting. As a municipality we are required to have a system in place in the event of civil emergency. The last time it was used was during Sandy. We have had power isolated at that siren this morning. We will be assessing and making necessary repairs. Again, sorry for the disturbance. Enjoy you Sunday.

Good Morning Monmouth Beach:

Please take a close look at the Photo I have posted here. This morning our code enforcement officer sent me this picture. It is a dog p**p bag tied to a tree on the island on Monmouth Parkway. He reported that this is the second time in as many weeks he has found this. We have also had similar incidents where the bags are deliberately placed in the roadway so a vehicle rides over and makes an enormous mess. Our street department does a fantastic job of keeping our community clean and beautiful. Now we have to have them clean up after some inconsiderate individual leaves their dog's excrement behind as some kind of joke.

We have ordinances that cover this and the police department is aware and watching to ensure we find the individual creating this mess. We all have ring cameras, so I would ask the neighborhood to keep an eye out and pass along any video that may help to put a stop to this unbelievably disrespectful behavior. Please pick up after your dogs, bring the bags back to your own home and deposit it in the trash, its' really not that hard. Have a great weekend and thanks in advance for your help.
