On Saturday August 22nd, the MJFD honored the annual America's 9/11 motorcycle ride, traveling from Shanksville, PA to the Pentagon to the World Trade Center. Hundreds of motorcycles passed through South Brunswick today on the way to New York City.

On August 19th, The MJFD, along with Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Co and Kingston Volunteer Fire Co. , held a joint classroom drill on Wild-land Urban Interface fires conducted by an outside instructor. Members were informed on environmental factors specific to our district’s area, the flow pattern of embers spreading and weather factors that affect the spread of the fire.

On Sunday, August 9th, at approximately 1:12 AM, Tower 201 and its crew of 5 responded to assist the Jamesburg Fire Department at the scene of a working structure fire. Our tower responded as part of a mutual aid response along with engines and trucks from Spotswood Volunteer Fire Department - Enterprise Hook & Ladder Co., Inc., Monroe Fire District #2, Brookview Volunteer Fire Company, Monroe Township Volunteer Fire Company #1 - Station 51.

The MJFD extends its deepest condolences to the friends and family members of those who lost their loved ones in the fire.

On Tuesday August 4th The Monmouth Junction Fire Department was proud to attend National Night Out along with Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Co , Kingston Volunteer Fire Co. ,South Brunswick Police Dept. and the Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad . Members gave truck tours, equipment demonstrations and had some friendly competition. Huge thank you to all of those who came out.

On the evening of Thursday, July 30th, the Monmouth Junction Fire Department held a practical drill to review and demonstrate the proper techniques concerning handling saws and performing ventilation. Members practiced on making entrance cuts using a K-12 saw and also later moved on to practicing ventilation operations on a roof using a chainsaw, a New York hook and a roof ladder.

The evening of Thursday July 23rd, the MJFD and the Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad held a joint rolling response motor vehicle extrication drill at Station 20. Crews simulated a two-vehicle "t-bone" collision with multiple occupants trapped in both cars. Firefighters worked on vehicle stabilization, battery isolation, glass removal, door removal, roof removal, and dash roll evolutions, as EMT's worked on patient care, packaging and removal. Outstanding job by all of our first responders!
