From Friday June 5th to Sunday June 7th, members of the MJFD including Firefighter Akshay Kamat, Captain Tyler Goldin, and Chief Scott Smith attended the Central Jersey Fire Conference in Plainsboro. Thank you to the instructors from around the country for the amazing classroom and hands-on sessions, and a huge thank you to Plainsboro Professional Firefighters Association - Local 4954 for their hard work to create this incredible training opportunity.

The MJFD responded to a total of 54 calls for service in May, bringing our total runs for the year 2026 to 257.

On Thursday May 28th, the MJFD conducted a live-burn drill at the Mercer County Fire Academy, reviewing fire attack, search & rescue, and ladder operations.

On Saturday May 23rd, the MJFD participated in the South Brunswick Township Police Department's first annual Developmental Disabilities Support Day at the Senior Center. Firefighters spoke with residents and showed off one of our engines, equipment, and protective gear.

On Thursday May 21st, the MJFD held a practical drill at the new Glades at Beekman townhome complex. Firefighters reviewed single- and two-firefighter ground ladder carries & raises, as well as tower ladder operations.

On Thursday May 7th, the MJFD held the second night of tower ladder training with On Scene Training Associates, LLC. Firefighters reviewed multiple aerial set-ups at buildings around our district. Thank you to retired FDNY Lt. Mike Ciampo and retired Hamilton Township Deputy Chief Aaron Heller for the outstanding training sessions.
