Pine Grove Guide Services Registered Maine guide offering guided bear hunts over bait only. Hunts can be booked for week or three day hunts.

Hunts are held in the Rockwood/Jackman area of Maine. We are a small family run guide service with a max of three hunters per week. This small ratio ensures that each hunters needs in the field are met, and our sites are not over used. We also are offering moose hunts to lucky permit winners in zones 2,3,4,5,6,8

Congratulations Dean Clark, of Evans Mills Ny. first black bear, 135 lb boar. I would like to give a big shout out to Dean's hunting partner Uhle. After sitting in the rain for over 12 hours over two days, without seeing any bear, we changed sites. On Thursday Dean took this bear, while at the same time Uhle passed on a mother and cub, (any bear is legal to take in Maine). On the last day, Friday, she also passed the same. I have heard many hunters say "it's not about taking an animal, itt's about the experience". Each night we got to hear the stories of the her experience with this creation and its wonders. While walking out out Uhle made the comment that she was glad to have passed on those bears because it would have tarnished her entire experience. To Cathy and I, you are a true hunter. We would like to invite you back next season as our guest, you deserve the same chance for a quality bear. You let two live to be part of our future. Thank you, Frank and Cathy.

A BIG Congratulations to our 9 year old Grandaughter Haylee Rocque on her first trukey. 17 lbs, 5/8" spurs, 9" beard. Nothing like taking a child hunting, the excitment they have is contagious. He was roosted a mere 35 yards away, as one hen hit the ground, he was soon to follow. The hen started to take him to the rest of the flock, one look at Jake with a lay down hen decoy was too much for him to stand. 16 yard shot with a .410 tss, he never had a chance. A hunt I wiil never forget, thanks Haylee for taking me

Was absolutley blessed this morning with this Birthday bird, tagged out for another season..... As the darkness faded into daylight, the hopes for another year filled my head. From across the field the first gobble rang out, welcoming the day, soon followed by three more Toms, which just happened to be roosted in trees not more than 15 yards away. (I knew they roosted nearby, but not exactly where). As the Toms continued to talk to each other, five hens were starting to add to the sounds of my calls, which turned into a fifteen minute heated disscussion between them and me, as the hens flew down my decoys recieved a stern scolding from each one. The toms were soon to follow, this was the third one on the scene. What an education you can get about turkey talk listening to that many birds.

Congratulations Cathy Lawler, first ever turkey. Two jakes came in silent from the field behind crossed a tractor path and only one jake left. What you see is our entire "blind". Made a perfect 14 yard shot.

Today is the start of month long baiting season, I still get the excited nervous energy of a child at Christmas. We were blessed with a perfect bluebird day with cool dry remps. Not sure if anybody is as excited but it looks good for natural food compition. Right now there are quite a few, old or small, rasberries but they are not going to last long, that part of Maine is dry. The trail csm pics come from a camera that, for the first time in 15 years, I forgot one. I am glad I did, pretty cool to see a site that long, probably happen again.
