Monmouth Seed Library

Monmouth Seed Library Exciting new program at the Library! What is a seed lending library? It a collection of donated seeds (vegetable & flower) available to community members.
(1)

Our hope is that you will use this opportunity to grow some vegetables and perhaps donate a few to the local food banks. If you have never gardened before, this is your opportunity to experience gardening without having to invest a great deal of money. You might only want to grow a few herbs or a row of carrots. A tomato can be grown in a bucket on a deck. Herbs can be grown on your kitchen window

sill. Classes will be held throughout the spring and summer to give you information and to support your efforts. How does it work? The seed library operates on an honor system. You become a member automatically when you withdraw seeds to plant. There is a limit of 3 seed packets per day per adult. If you have leftover seeds you may bring back the extra seeds in the original package (HINT: carefully open the seed packets so you don't damage the planting instructions). Simply stop by the Check Out desk and let us know how many packets you are "checking out."
