Town of Monon Residents — Let’s Do Our Part!

Please do not blow grass clippings into the roadway. Clippings can wash into storm drains, clog the drainage system, and contribute to flooding.

Please blow grass clippings back onto your lawn or properly dispose of them.

A small effort after mowing can help keep our streets, storm drains, and community clean and safe.

Missing lids create severe fall hazards for neighbors and pets, release toxic gases, and cause street flooding. For officer Durral Hale’s service Saturday, August 1st: Officers will es**rt Durral to Grace Fellowship Church in DeMotte. Public viewing will be 10am-12pm. Funeral Service is 12p-1p. Police will then es**rt Durral to Memory Gardens Cemetery in Rensselaer for a graveside service to be held at 2pm. DeMotte Police Chaplin Tom Shanahan will be officiating.

I first met Durral when I was asked to join the Jasper County SWAT Team and was impressed from day one. He had an act for teaching and offering his skills on how to run the shield. He always had the desire to get it right and the safety of the team first. You even showed the old dog some new tricks. You will be missed brother. We stand with the DeMotte Community and Durral family.

The Town of Monon is accepting applications for a full-time Laborer to join our team!

This position offers the opportunity to work outdoors while helping maintain and improve our community. Duties may include street and utility maintenance, equipment operation, mowing, snow removal, and other public works responsibilities.

Applications are available at Monon Town Hall, 800 N Adams St, Monon, IN, or by contacting the Clerk-Treasurer's Office @ 219-253-6441.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
