Este lunes, como parte de nuestra unidad de IB, “Quienes somos”, nuestros estudiantes de kinder daron la bienvenida a dos oficiales de policía en caballo para aprender sobre sus papeles importantes en nuestra comunidad! Nuestra idea central, “las personas viven y participen en comunidades”, ayuda a los estudiantes explorar las varias personas que contribuyen a mantener nuestras comunidades seguras, saludables y prósperos.

¡Estamos haciendo conexiones, haciendo preguntas y descubriendo cómo todos podemos contribuir a las comunidades en que vivimos!

This Monday, as part of our IB Unit, “Who We Are”, our kindergartners welcomed police officers on horseback to learn about their important roles in our community! Our central idea, “people live and participate in communities”, helps students explore the many people who contribute to keeping our communities safe, healthy, and thriving.

We are building connections, asking questions, and discovering how we can all contribute to the communities we live in!

Thank you to everyone who participated in MMSD’s Building for the Future community input sessions. Your feedback is an important part of planning for the future of our schools. Your input will help inform future enrollment planning, attendance area reviews and how our schools align with Madison’s continued growth. No decisions have been made.

Ven a disfrutar de un delicioso potluck en comunidad y contempla las increíbles obras de arte creadas por nuestros estudiantes. Te animamos a traer una foto de tus seres queridos para rendirles homenaje en nuestro hermoso altar comunitario.

El miércoles, nuestros estudiantes de tercer grado cosecharon zanahorias y papas, y guardaron semillas de perejil, menta y tomate en el huerto escolar de Nuestro Mundo at Frank Allis. ¡Gracias a nuestras jardineras residentes de Rooted por su apoyo! 💚🌿

🦋¡La indagación en acción! 🦋

Nuestros maestros exploraron el ciclo de vida de las mariposas a través del aprendizaje práctico, fomentando la curiosidad, haciendo preguntas y descubriendo las maravillas del mundo natural.

También aprendimos sobre la increíble migración de las mariposas monarca y su viaje a México. Tradicionalmente asociadas con el Día de los Mu***os, las mariposas monarca simbolizan el regreso de los espíritus de nuestros seres queridos

¡Una hermosa conexión entre la naturaleza, la cultura y la tradición!

Our teachers explored the butterfly life cycle through hands-on learning, fostering curiosity, asking questions, and discovering the wonders of the natural world.

We also learned about the incredible migration of monarch butterflies and their journey to Mexico! Traditionally associated with Día de los Mu***os, monarchs symbolize the return of loved ones’ spirits.

🏗️ Breaking Ground: Building for the Future

Reminder: Join Us tomorrow, October 14, we’ll officially break ground on two more schools included in Phase 2 of the projects made possible by the community’s support of the 2024 Referendum.

📍 10:30 a.m. | Sennett Middle School, 502 Pflaum Rd.

📍 1 p.m. | Cherokee Heights Middle School, 4301 Cherokee Dr.

These new facilities are designed to support modern instruction, foster collaboration and create inclusive, accessible spaces that meet the diverse needs of our students.

We’re excited to celebrate this important investment in our students, schools and community.
