We are pleased to announce that our Resident of the Month is Marion! She was born and raised on a small farm around Arco, Minnesota with her older brother. Following graduation, Marion took a job at Ivanhoe Bank for two years and met her husband, Lyle at a dance. Lyle and Marion moved to a farm west of Lake Benton, Minnesota, where they raised their four children. Marion worked around the farm milking cows, tending pigs and chickens, and working in her garden and flower beds. The Johannsen’s then moved to Cresco, Iowa in 1965 to follow Lyle’s salesman job, then they landed in Monona.
Marion’s proudest achievement is her family of four children, five grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way in June! She loved attending her family’s sporting and music events throughout the years. Marion loves to attend music events in our community and admires the fellowship between team members and residents. Marion’s piece of advice to all is, “enjoy life as much as you can, when you can!” Thank you, Marion, for being a cherished resident in our community! 💛
