8/29/26, 1145PM: Multiple Fire Companies are operating at a fully involved structure fire on Warne Street Ext. which is located off of Route 88 Cemetary Hill. Companies are setting up a drop tank operation on Rt. 88. The area is heavily involved with Fire apparatus and we recommend to avoid Rt. 88 from the City Bridge to the intersection of Country Club Road.

It is with sadness and deep regret that we announce the passing of 63 year lifetime member, John G. "JD" Dornan.
John joined the department in 1963 and was a very active member having held the positions of Lieutenant, Trustee, and Vice President over his many years of membership. He was most well know as an engineer, faithfully responding to alarms driving the trucks and operating the pumps. He was a man that many of the members looked up to and his dedication helped mold many of us into being better firefighters.
A firefighters service will be held on Monday, July 27 at 7PM in the Frye Funeral Home. Any firefighter that wishes to attend we ask you to be at the funeral home for 6:30PM.

CONGRATULATIONS to Captain W. Brandon Miller for completing PA Fire Academy pro-board courses for Passenger Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Operations, and Technician.
Brandon has been working hard to obtain pro-board certifications and is setting a great example to the other members that training is very important. His knowledge and skill set is being passed on to the other members of the department and is making the community a safer and better place to live. Way to go Brandon!

A little bit about the certifications Brandon has obtained: Pennsylvania’s Pro Board and IFSAC-recognized vehicle rescue certifications are administered through the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy (PSFA) and aligned with the NFPA 1006 standard. The standard certification track for Common Passenger Vehicle Rescue requires progression through Awareness, Operations, and Technician levels.

The Monongahela Fire Department attended the Ringgold High School Senior Awards Ceremony today. 2nd Lieutenant/Secretary Chad Bartkus presented his son and fellow firefighter Dylan Bartkus with a $500 check, he also received the "Chief 63" Rob Greenlee memorial scholarship. Dylan will be attending Penn State University in the fall. Congratulations to all of the 2026 graduates!

Station 62 was activated for a motor vehicle accident 4th Street and Alexander Street in the city involving a motorcycle. Tri-Community ambulance was also on scene. Patient was flown by LifeLight from Mounds Park.

We congratulate Katie Low for obtaining her Firefighter I certification. Katie joined the department towards the end of last year and within the past 5 months completed essentials of firefighting and passed the Firefighter 1 pro board. Way to go Katie!
