On September 30, 2025, the Monroe Center and Lynn-Scott-Rock Fire Districts were dispatched to a grass fire along I-39 near mile marker 110. Crews arrived to find a medium-sized fire burning in the median and along the roadside, moving toward a nearby field of standing corn. A second fire was also discovered in the median south of Big Mound.

An additional unit from New Milford was requested to assist. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all responding agencies, both fires were quickly brought under control, and the nearby crops were protected from damage.

While still operating at the scene, Monroe Center and Lynn-Scott-Rock crews were dispatched to a separate incident for smoke coming from a combine in a nearby field. Lynn-Scott-Rockโ€™s engine was first to arrive and requested additional support to extinguish a small internal fire. Their quick response prevented the combine from becoming a total loss, allowing the equipment to return to operation as crews were clearing the scene.
