As Liberia celebrates 178th Independence Day, Orator Emmett Dunn reminded Liberians of their enduring resilience and called for unity under the theme: “One People, One Destiny.”
Retrospecting on the country journey—from colonization, exclusion, war, and survival—Dunn praised ordinary Liberians’ perseverance and urged every citizen to shape history through responsibility, service, and hope.
He commended President Boakai’s leadership on infrastructure, anti-corruption, and education, emphasizing the need for greater national reconciliation and recommending a new national motto inclusive of all Liberians.
Dunn called for bold action on economic inequality, highlighting the need to support Liberian businesses, fairer wealth distribution, and strict enforcement of the Liberianization Policy to empower locals.
The National Orator charged Liberians to reject division, embrace healing, and take shared ownership of building a peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous Liberia for generations yet unborn.
