The Monroe Police Department is assisting the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office in locating Chardarious Jackson, who is wanted in connection with a homicide.

Jackson is currently wanted by the Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office. If you have information regarding his whereabouts, please contact the Monroe Police Department at (318) 329-2600 or Crime Stoppers of North Delta at (318) 388-CASH (2274).

If you missed this class, don’t worry—you’ll have another opportunity to join us! Our next Senior Citizens Self-Defense Class will be held on August 24, 2026, from 9:00–11:00 a.m. at Benoit Recreation Center.

MPD is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 6-year-old Samuel Crawford Bruyninckx.

Samuel was last seen in the 3300 block of Deborah Drive. He is approximately 3’6” tall, weighs 45 pounds, and has brown hair and hazel eyes.

🚨 ALICE Active Shooter Response Instructor Training is coming to Monroe!

The Monroe Police Department will host a 2-day ALICE Instructor Training on November 10–11, 2026, from 8:00 AM–5:00 PM at the Public Safety Building, 1810 B MLK, Monroe, LA 71202.

This course is designed to equip participants with practical skills and strategies to help increase survivability during a violent event before law enforcement arrives. Successful participants will become Certified ALICE Instructors and receive the knowledge and resources needed to train others in their organizations and communities.

Training includes:
• Background and statistics on active shooter situations
• An in-depth look at the ALICE concept and proactive response strategies
• Live scenario drills comparing static and active responses
• Training strategies and materials for future ALICE instructors
