This afternoon shortly before 2:30 Stevenson, Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, No.1 Inc. and Stepney Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection of Rt 111 and Rt 34 for a rolled over truck and possible extrication. Stevenson Chief 352 was first to arrive and was able to confirm everyone had been able to get out of the vehicle on their own. There was a fuel leak from one of the fuel tanks causing CT Deep to be requested along with an environmental cleanup company. Units remained on scene for a couple hours while Bud's Truck and Diesel Service Inc. righted the truck and got it prepared to tow. Monroe Volunteer Emergency Medical Service was on scene taking care of the patients and Monroe CT Police Department was taking care of the investigation and traffic.

We will be posting more pictures one lettering is complete. Gowans-Knight Co.,Inc. did a beautiful job building a new body, and refurbishing the suspension on Engine 302. This body allowed us to get rid of our Rescue 320, and make one less truck we need to maintain and service. Thank you Gowans!

The last two evenings have been eventful. Friday evening around 8:00pm Stevenson was requested for a tanker into Oxford. Once the tanker was on the road along with Chief 351, they were redirected to stand by at Riverside Fire Co.. Engine 301 along with members from Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, No.1 Inc. were added to standby as well while Oxford fire companies operated at a fire. Units were cleared around 9:00pm. On the way back into town, the crew on Tanker 316 noticed a large amount of water coming from a vacant portion of a building on Roosevelt Dr (RT34). Crews were able to make entry and shut off the water to the broken pipe.

Last night around 10:40pm Stevenson was toned out for a motor vehicle accident, possible car into a residence. Upon arrival, Deputy Chief 352 found a vehicle had run through the front porch of a residence. Luckily there were no serious injuries, and the building was checked by the building inspector.

Please keep in mind, we are in brush fire season, with todayโ€™s fire danger being High. Please do not burn, and remember any burning in the town of Monroe requires a burn permit from Monroe CT Office of the Fire Marshal.

Enjoy this beautiful weather and the start of spring!
