Did you know how much of an impact a local library has you!?!? During just the 1st quarter of 2026, the local Monroe-Walton County Library saw over 22,000 visitors and had a program attendance of almost 1,500 participants!

The Georgia Reads for America250 Reading List includes 25 books on American and Georgia history and civic literacy, broken down by grade level for a K-12 audience.

Parents, educators, and literacy supporters can use this list and the corresponding Beanstack Reading Challenges to inspire students to reflect on America’s past, strengthen our love of country, and renew our commitment to the ideals of democracy.

Please take note, there will be a modified schedule this week for solid waste and recycling collections due to this closure.
