The Walton County Sheriff's Office Jail Division SRT (Special Response Team) recently participated in specialized training designed to prepare team members for critical incidents that may occur within a correctional facility. During the training, deputies reviewed current use of force laws, response tactics, and the safe and effective deployment of chemical agents.

Ongoing training like this is essential to ensuring our personnel are equipped to respond quickly, professionally, and safely to a variety of situations while maintaining the security of our facility and the safety of staff and inmates. We are proud of the dedication our Jail Division SRT members demonstrate through their commitment to preparedness, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Investing in our youth means investing in their safety. Our Youth Services Division has been attending the Georgia School Safety & Homeland Security Conference this week alongside representatives from local law enforcement agencies, school districts, and community partners.

This conference is an important opportunity for those who work with children to stay informed on the latest school safety concerns, best practices, and emerging trends.

We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and strengthen partnerships that help keep our schools safe.

Join Us for the 28th Annual Youth Education Golf Classic!

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office Youth Services Division is excited to host our 28th Annual Youth Education Golf Classic on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Providence Golf Course in Monroe.

This tournament is more than just a great day on the course—it’s an opportunity to invest in the youth of Walton County. Proceeds directly support our youth through programs such as C.H.A.M.P.S., youth mentoring, the Explorers Program, school assistance initiatives, youth sponsorships, and other community awareness programs that positively impact local youth.

Teams, hole sponsors, and business promotion opportunities are still available, but spots are limited to 30 teams. Gather your foursome, support a great cause, and help us continue making a difference in the lives of Walton County’s youth.

Our Youth Services Division hosted our annual CHAMPS field trip at Dave & Buster’s, and it was a day full of fun, laughter, and well-deserved rewards!

A select few students from each school were chosen to attend based on their hard work, dedication, and the positive example they set throughout the year. This special trip gave our CHAMPS instructors and School Resource Deputies the opportunity to spend one-on-one time with some of their students outside the classroom and celebrate all they’ve accomplished.

CHAMPS is an educational program taught to fifth graders across 10 elementary schools, helping students build leadership skills, make positive choices, and prepare for their future.

We are so proud of these students and hope they continue to carry the lessons they’ve learned through CHAMPS with them for years to come. Thank you to everyone who helped make this experience possible!

REMEMBER to teach your loved one to care for others and not just themselves. Happy Sunday!
