Seniors and Senior Families,
We are officially two days away from graduation on Wednesday, June 10th. We are so proud of each and every one of you and can't wait to see you walk across the stage! Please read the details below carefully.
Graduation: Our graduation date is Wednesday, June 10th, at 8 AM, at Walter Bickett Stadium. The address is 704 Washington Street, Monroe, NC 28112. The district will live-stream this event on the Central Academy of Technology & Arts YouTube Channel. There will be a link to the channel on our school website at the bottom of the home webpage. Please feel free to share this live-stream link with family and friends who are unable to attend the ceremony in person. 2026 Graduation Livestream Link-https://www.youtube.com/live/Mjr2YMxqrWc
Graduation Rehearsal and Packet Pickup: Graduation practice will take place at Walter Bickett Stadium on June 9th at 4:00 PM. This is a mandatory event. Students should be prepared to run through the processional, the general ceremony, and the recessional two times. Once graduation rehearsal is over, students will receive their graduation packets, which will include graduation tickets and parking passes.
Graduation Day Packets: Students will pick up their graduation day packet after they walk across the stage. Guidance Counselors will be at the table distributing graduation day packets, which include a diploma, program, picture information, and transcripts (one official to be mailed to your college, and one unofficial for informational purposes).
Student Drop-Off on Graduation Day: Students will need to be dropped off at the school and transported by bus over to the stadium for graduation. All students should be in line by 7:15 am ready to load the buses. BUSES LEAVE CATA at 7:30 am. If students are driving themselves, they should plan to park in the back student lot. Any open spot will work. If a parent is dropping off a senior, please use the front circle for drop-off. All students should make their way back to the student lot to be arranged by academy.
Tickets and Parking Passes: Each graduate will receive 6 tickets, with the option to request up to 2 more, for a total of 8 tickets. The link to request extra tickets closed on 5/29. Each graduate will also receive two parking passes. Again, tickets and parking passes can be picked up at the mandatory graduation practice, which will take place at 4:00 pm on 6/9 at Walter Bickett Stadium. If you requested the 2 extra tickets through the Google form that closed on 5/29, those 2 extra tickets have been granted.
Attire: All students should be in their caps and gowns on graduation day. Students may wear clothes for hot weather within the school dress code under the gown. Graduation Caps and Gowns may not be altered.
Rain and Weather: Unless otherwise stated, we will hold our graduation at 8:00 AM. If you arrive and there is a lightning delay, please check our social media sites for updates. Since we are at an off campus venue, we will ask guests to wait in their cars until we give an all clear. Graduates and school staff will wait in the Walter Bickett Ed Center Auditorium until the all clear is given. If the delay is due to rain, you may stay in the stands with an umbrella if you do not wish to go to your car. It is strongly suggested you bring stadium seats or a towel to wipe down seats no matter the weather.
