Congratulations to our newest CASA Advocates who were recently sworn in by Judge Sharon Marchman! Seven new Advocates joined our team: Darrell Roberts, Matt Nappier, Tawanna Watkins, LaShanta Mire, Jacqueline Hardy, Mikayla Rider and Deborah Blanson!

We are so proud to celebrate the graduation of this incredible group of volunteers! Thank you for saying YES to children and committing your time, heart and voice to advocating for children in foster care. We are so grateful to each of you for stepping forward to change a child's story.

And now, we’re looking ahead to our next training class!

Our Find Your Five campaign is simple: think of five people in your life who might make a great CASA Advocate. Tell them about CASA. Start the conversation. Invite them to learn more. Just imagine what our next graduation could look like if each of us found our five! You never know which conversation could lead to the next incredible CASA Advocate.

At CASA of Northeast Louisiana, we believe every child deserves more than a safe place to live . They deserve the opportunity to thrive. ❤️

That’s why we’re committed to excellence in advocacy and continuing to equip our CASA Advocates with the tools and training they need to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children.

We’re offering Child’s Wellbeing Assessment training for all CASA volunteers, giving Advocates additional tools to better understand and assess the needs of the children they serve.

Because when we truly understand a child’s needs, we can better speak up for them, support their well-being, and help ensure they have what every child deserves: a safe, permanent home where they can thrive.

We’re proud of our Advocates who continue to learn, grow and show up for children because excellence in advocacy can change a child’s story.

Excited to have two new CASA Advocate Supervisors with CASA of NELA prepared to serve as training facilitators!

The CASA training is an integral part of serving with our program, and takes anyone, with any background, and prepares them to advocate for a child in the system!

Our very own Sarah Charrier and Kathleen Bahm are now prepared to lead others to make a difference in the lives of children across Louisiana!

Last week, Louisiana CASA hosted Training of Facilitators (TOF) in Covington, LA. Led by Master Facilitator and Louisiana CASA's Director of Member Services, Stephanie Breeden LMSW, this training prepares staff to lead the pre-service course for future CASA volunteers. These training facilitators are now ready to help train advocates who will make a difference in the lives of children across Louisiana!

Earlier this month, Louisiana CASA hosted a training in Monroe, LA on the newly developed Child Well-being Assessment for Region 4 CASA staff. This training is part of our ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Initiative, which aims to elevate child advocacy across the state through evidence-based and data-informed practices.

Designed for staff who supervise CASA volunteers, the training focused on how to integrate the updated assessment into case management workflows and how to ensure volunteers are effectively trained to use this tool in their advocacy. By equipping staff with these resources, we’re laying the groundwork for more consistent, informed, and impactful advocacy for children in foster care.

Louisiana CASA’s CQI Initiative, launched in 2024, represents a long-term commitment to improving outcomes for children by using data to inform practice, build accountability, and drive meaningful change. Through initiatives like this, we’re ensuring that every child’s voice is not only heard, but truly understood. 💙❤
