Bonjour, Campaign Coordinators! 🥐☕💙

We had a wonderful morning at our 2026 Campaign Coordinator Training, connecting with the people who help bring United Way campaigns to life in workplaces across Northeast Louisiana.

Over breakfast, our Campaign Coordinators learned more about United Way’s work in our community, explored campaign best practices and resources, and shared ideas for engaging and motivating their coworkers throughout this year’s campaign.

Thank you to each of our Campaign Coordinators for joining us, asking questions, sharing ideas, and being part of the conversation. Your involvement helps connect more people to opportunities to make a difference across Northeast Louisiana.

Every connection counts. 💙

From September 4–10, our 211 team responded to 177 calls and 11 texts, with electric payment assistance and rent payment assistance among the most requested needs.

But behind the numbers are real people and real circumstances.

When Carolyn contacted 211 looking for a hotel voucher after a truck drove through her home, our team learned that she and her family had been unexpectedly displaced. By listening to her situation and exploring additional resources, 211 helped Carolyn apply for temporary disaster housing assistance through Airbnb.org. She was approved, giving her family a safe place to stay while they navigated what came next.

Her story is a powerful example of why every conversation matters. Sometimes the resource someone initially asks for isn't where the connection ends. 211 specialists listen, explore available options, and help people navigate resources during difficult moments.

This year, READ.LEARN.SUCCEED. has a new schedule! The program will take place over 10 consecutive weeks from October through December, excluding Thanksgiving Break.

Volunteer Readers and Pen-Friends are paired with local students to help them practice and strengthen their reading and writing skills while building confidence and supporting their path toward school success.
