This morning, your Monroe Charter Township Firefighters hosted a helicopter landing zone class taught by a flight crew from the University of Michigan - Survival Flight.

When we respond to patients who are critically injured, there may be times when we need to request an air ambulance to transport the patient to a trauma center. Today’s training taught those in attendance how to properly choose and set up a landing zone for the helicopter, as well as safe practices when working around the helicopter.

Also in attendance for the training were Firefighters and Public Safety Officers from the Monroe Public Safety Department City of Monroe, MI, as well as members of the Michigan Wing - Civil Air Patrol.
We would like to extend a big thank you to Survival Flight for coming out and training with us.

We hope you all have a great rest of your weekend. Stay safe!
