Here we go again...

The full report on last night's special city council meeting will be coming later this week. But in the meantime, let's chew on the insensitive crassness of having a prayer walk instead of doing actual community service.

Last night, speaker after speaker, including Michelle Ball, claimed that homelessness was a larger issue that needed the community to come together to work toward solutions. Several speakers even lamented that churches and social groups in the area really needed to step up.

Instead of memorializing Charlie Kirk with a day of service, they are once again ignoring Matthew 6:5 (And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others).

They are not collecting food for the Community Shelter. They are not preparing meals to be served at the Community Shelter. Instead it's another day of "look at me being a good Christian" nonsense that we the tax payers will float the bill for...again. The last time the mayor did this (not city sponsored) event, the tab came to more than $12k. While Dotson pretends to be meticulously counting pennies, apparently that's only when it comes to helping the less fortunate. When his buddy is using tax dollars to run for governor or getting the police department whatever latest piece of tech they want, Ebenezer Dotson becomes the most generous person in the world. Just another performer in this farce.

Right after the City Council shorted the Community Shelter $20k to the citizens of this city really think another fake Christian performance is necessary?

There are two things I can tell you from this prayer walk. Not a single citizen in this city will benefit from their actions and not a single actual Christian will be present.

At the Monroe special council meeting tonight, we thought Dotson would run away with the dumbest statement when he said "we know we can't arrest our way out of this issue, but if we started to remove 10-15 particular individuals, would that help?"

Sooooo...arresting them or...

But nope! Burns, king of the imbeciles decided to weigh in...

"If we were to put up lights or call boxes how would they be powered?"

Hundreds of squirrels on wheels, sir! We'll start training them immediately!

One local resident who doesn't own a dictionary gets his 15 minutes of fame...but rejoice as we will never say his name again after this podcast.

In case you didn't know, the mayor is hosting an event for people to complain about the unhoused on Tuesday.
This is all because residents in a nearby apartment complex have whined about having to see homeless people when they leave the house.
The mayor's attack on the most vulnerable people in our city is disgusting. He's done nothing to force landlords to improve living conditions in other apartment complexes. He has done nothing to reduce crime, make the city grow, or improve our way of life.
But beating down the unhoused? Now he wants to roll up his sleeves and get to work?

The Monroe City Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday, September 1 at 6 p.m. to hear from residents and businesses about quality-of-life and public-safety concerns in the Miller Street and Meadow Street areas.

Council wants to hear directly from the neighborhood about calls for service and other ongoing issues, and, if warranted, may take possible action.
