It was a beautiful day to celebrate the re-opening of the Opportunity Center at ALCC!

This expanded Community Center is a massive win for our community. As Mark Cochran beautifully shared, this space "will allow us to achieve all that we think we can for our city now, but also the city we are building for the future."

By bringing the Monroe County Opportunity Program, The Learning Bank, and the Monroe County Library System all together under one magnificent new roof, The Center is going to be a powerhouse for local connection and growth.

We have to give a special shout-out to the incredible vision behind the design by Kohler Architecture. We were especially proud to spot CFMC board member Woody Hoffer, who worked on the design team for this project, checking out the finished space with his daughter!

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this incredible hub to life!

There are still a few more days to apply for our Monroe/Erie Youth Advisory Council grant!

Our YAC surveyed their peers across Monroe Public and Erie Mason Schools and heard loud and clear: mental health, connection, food access, and overall well-being matter.

Now, they’re offering up to $5,000 to support projects that respond directly to the needs identified by local youth.

This is a youth-driven opportunity to fund ideas that:
βœ” Improve quality of life
βœ” Expand access to health and wellness resources
βœ” Strengthen community connections
βœ” Reflect the real experiences of young people in Monroe County

Did you know that in Michigan, you are never more than 6 miles away from a body of water? 🌊 Because water is everywhere in our community, water safety isn't just a skill, it's a necessity.

In our latest blog post, "Breaking the Ripple Effect," guest blogger Michael Kiefer dives into how the Community Foundation of Monroe County is shifting from short-term fixes to long-term, systemic solutions in health, education, and economic opportunity.

A life-changing example? Our support of critical swim lessons at the The Monroe Family YMCA to ensure every child is safe around the water.

If you want to know what pure joy looks like, watch this.

We are still floating on the incredible energy from our Spring Gathering, but this moment right here reminds us exactly why we do what we do. Watch LaTonya from IMAGINE Mentoring find out they were this year's G.R.O.W. Grant recipients.

This is the real-world impact of collective philanthropy. When women pool their resources, moments like this become possible, and lives are changed right here in Monroe County.

Thank you again to the members of G.R.O.W. whose investments make these grants a reality year after year.

Want to be a part of moments like this and help us build a permanent legacy for our community's future? We would love to welcome you to the circle.

There's nothing like the feeling in a room full of women who come together.

Tuesday night, our women's giving circle, G.R.O.W. (Giving Represents Our Women) held their Spring Gathering at the Raisin National Battlefield Park Foundation, and the energy in that sold-out room, was beyond special. Stories from women representing all parts of Monroe County were told. We awarded The Imagine Mentoring Program of Michigan with this year's G.R.O.W. grant to support their upcoming Girl Code Conference. And our extraordinary Philanthropist of the Year learned that May 19th will forevermore be Laurie Loveland Day.

Thank you to every woman who was in that room, and to the members of G.R.O.W. who invest in the women & children of Monroe County.

If you want to be a part of this incredible movement and help us build a permanent legacy for our community's future, we’d love to welcome you to the circle.
