Monroe County Middle College is the ONLY stand-alone, site-based EMC in Monroe County, serving our students fully on the beautiful Monroe County Community College campus! The Monroe County Middle College is a five-year public school located on the beautiful campus of the Monroe County Community College. MCMC offers a comprehensive curriculum culminating in a high school diploma, up to 60 transfera

ble college credits, a professional certificate, and/or an Associate’s Degree. All high school classes are taught by MCMC’s staff of highly qualified, Michigan-certified teachers, and all dual enrollment college classes are taught by Monroe County Community College professors and adjunct faculty. Students typically enter MCMC in 9th grade, but students may also enter in 10th and 11th grade, pending available space. The application process begins at the end of January and ends at the beginning of March. Many charter, parochial, and homeschool students choose to attend MCMC for high school, as well as students who attended middle school in one of the nine local school districts. When students initially apply to MCMC, they will select a STEM or health focus. However, students are able to choose from a wide range of classes, programs, and degrees once they are dual enrolled with the college, which typically begins in Winter of 10th grade. Some degree programs include Nursing, Welding, Accounting, Automotive Service Technology, Fine Arts, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Criminal Justice and Business Management. After graduation, many students plan to attend a four-year college/university, so they also work to fulfill the requirements of the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA). Check out MCCC’s course catalog for a full list of academic programs and more information about transfer pathways. Congratulations to our Class of 2026! We are SO proud of you!

Your hard work, dedication, focus, and drive over the last five years has finally paid off. You have your diplomas in hand, and you're headed off to a new adventure. For some of you, that’s finishing up a degree right here on campus. For others, that’s continuing your studies at a university or joining the workforce. No matter what comes next, we know you will do great things because you did great things here!

Keep learning, keep growing, and, above all, keep being good humans. Congratulations, graduates! GO TIGERS! 💙🧡💙🧡

Huge thanks to Monroe Community CU and their amazing team of volunteers for hosting Budget Bootcamp at MCMC again this year!

Our 11th grade students were given a salary based on the career that they chose along with randomly assigned life experiences to engage in real-world budgeting. They traveled from station to station to create a budget revolving around expenses like childcare, housing, and transportation, while also adjusting for any unexpected expenses that came up along the way. At the end, they met with a financial advisor to review their budget.

Thank you, MCCU, for helping our students build their financial skills!

Yesterday, we celebrated Decision Day with the Class of 2026! Participating students sported their new college gear, created posters announcing their colleges and majors, and shared their postsecondary plans with staff and students. This year, we also had Dr. Scott Behrens, MCCC’s Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success, as our keynote speaker. Afterwards, students enjoyed a picnic with pizza and yard games.

We are so proud of their hard work over the last five years, and we can’t wait to see the amazing things they accomplish after graduation! GO TIGERS! 💙🧡💙🧡
