📢 🦺🚧 September 1, 2026: Project update for 13th Street and 31st Avenue intersection project.

All of the underground work along the East portion of the project in Stage 1 and 2 have been completed. Last Friday, Parisi Concrete placed the curb and gutter in Stage 1 and 2. This week Parisi will be completing the placement of the sidewalk, concrete in the islands, and concrete truck aprons behind the curb. Rock Road is scheduled to fine grade the base ahead of paving the first layer of asphalt next week. Landscaping in the 1st and 2nd Stage is also anticipated to be completed next week.

Currently Rock Road is anticipating switching over to Stage 3 and 4 of the project the week of September 14th. This will open the area to traffic from CTH KK to 31st Avenue, while access to 13th Street and CTH K will be closed. Traffic will be able to get up to the intersection from 13th Street and CTH K to access the businesses along 13th Street and CTH K, but they will not be able to go through the intersection.

🏠 $10,000 toward the down payment on your first home in Green County? Yes, you read that right.

Green County Development Corporation (GCDC) has launched Welcome Home Green County—a brand-new program designed to help first-time homebuyers put down roots and connect with their community.

🔑 Here's how it works:
Eligible first-time homebuyers can receive a $10,000 grant to be used toward the down payment on their new home. In return, participating homeowners commit to giving back through 20 hours of community volunteer service each year for five years.

That's $10,000 toward a new home + 100 hours invested back into the community you call home 🫰🏻

Whether you already live in Green County or are looking for the right place to put down roots, this is an opportunity to buy a home, get involved, and find your place to belong.

❤️🤍💙 A lasting piece of our 250th celebration.

Missed the special plaque presentation? The 250th commemorative plaque is now proudly displayed in its permanent home, preserving a piece of this historic milestone for our community and generations to come.

Pictured with the plaque is George Abraham, whose dedication and efforts played a major role in bringing both the plaque and its special presentation to life.

A special thank you to the Wisconsin Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, Nathaniel Ames Chapter, City of Monroe, and the NSSAR George Washington Endowment Fund for making this lasting tribute possible in recognition of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.
