MYTH: The United States is the only country that uses mail-in voting.
Fact: 34 countries around the world have some sort of vote-by-mail system. Twelve countries, including Canada, Germany, New Zealand, and South Korea, allow all citizens to vote by mail. Like the United States, many of these countries invested in their vote-by-mail infrastructure in response to the pandemic in 2020, and many chose to maintain these vote-by-mail options in the years that followed.
