The Monroe Police Department is wanting to inform the public after being made aware that some high school seniors are participating in the game commonly known as “Senior Assassin.” During this event, students attempt to “eliminate” each other using water guns.
We want students to have fun their senior year, however, this activity can create real safety concerns for both participants and the community. We want to take this opportunity to spread awareness of the activity and to encourage parents to have conversations with their students on how to participate safely.
Please keep the following in mind:
• Do NOT trespass on private property—stay in public or approved areas only.
• Be respectful, many people may not be aware of the game.
• Avoid playing at night or in low-light conditions.
• Do not carry anything that could be mistaken for a real weapon.
• Follow all laws and ordinances at all times.
Our intent is not to stop students from having fun, but to prevent a situation where someone gets hurt, or a misunderstanding escalates unnecessarily.
If you observe suspicious activity or feel unsafe, please contact the Monroe Police Department.
