⚠️ Power Outage Food Safety Reminder
🥛 A refrigerator will keep food cold for about 4 hours during a power outage if the door stays closed.

❄️ A full freezer can hold a safe temperature for about 48 hours (24 hours if half full) if the door remains closed.

Before eating food after an outage:
✔️ Check food temperatures when possible
✔️ Throw away refrigerated foods that have been above 40°F for 2+ hours
✔️ Never taste food to decide if it’s safe
✔️ Remember: When in doubt, throw it out.

We know throwing away food is frustrating, but foodborne illness can happen even when food looks and smells normal.
