✨ Fridge Drawer & Craft Kit Update ✨
Last week’s Craft Kit of the Week was one of the busiest days we’ve ever had! It was fun seeing so many visitors, but after I posted there was a whole lot of chaos and I realized it wasn’t the kind of magic (or traffic 😅) we want to create.
One of my favorite things about the fridge is the thought of someone stopping by and finding an unexpected treasure, so we have decided to go back to random kits. Instead of crafts in the bottom drawer, we have moved them into a crate next to the kid’s books to give us a smaller container to manage and a little less pressure in this area. 😊
That brings me to the bottom drawer... A recent large donation had a bunch of bigger stuff and made me realize how fun it would be for the drawer to be a “community swap” space. Life is so expensive right now and I love that the fridge has become a little stop for free joy, this will help us expand on that a bit! For the bottom drawer, we’re envisioning things like puzzles, games, small toys, decor, and other gently used family items that deserve a second chance to be enjoyed.
If you have something you think could be used by another family, feel free to swap it straight into the drawer if it fits or you can leave donations in the tote behind the library (or our porch if needed). Please make sure donated/swapped items are clean and in good condition. I’m a busy homeschooling mom who also runs a couple of businesses and while I would love to be a full time Fairytale Librarian, I only have so much time to spend on the fridge and I would rather not spend it cleaning up sticky toys.
Thank you for supporting this crazy, little project and all of its evolving adventures and for reading my incredibly long posts! 😆❤️✨
