Good afternoon to you all!

I'm sharing the most recent post from the Monroe Police Department Ind. page. They have again announced when they will be available for golf cart and UTV registrations.

Beginning:

April 18, 2026 from 9am to 1pm
April 25, 2026 from 9am to 1pm

It is required that all golf carts and UTV's be registered with the Town of Monroe. If you have not registered, please make plans to do so. You will need to come to the Monroe Fire Department located at 233 Tower Dr. here in Monroe.

All golf carts and UTV's driven within town limits are required to register with the police department. Even if you don't live within the Town of Monroe, you must register your vehicle. This rule applies to our neighboring towns and cities as well.

The cost associated with golf cart registration is $30.00. The police department is taking only cash payments at this time. Anyone driving a UTV will not be charged this registration fee since you've already registered with the State of Indiana.

You can find the Golf Cart/UTV ordinance #2025-5 on our website at https://townofmonroe.in.gov/ordinances under the "Streets" tab.

If you have questions regarding your registration, please call the Monroe Police Department at 260-692-6215 Ext. 12

As always, if you have questions or concerns, please give us a call at 260-692-6215 Ext. 10, you can also call or text Rachel at 260-519-0299 or email her at [email protected].

Have a great day!

Good morning to you all!

After last Fridays damaging winds, I’ve received several calls and messages about missing trash cans.

The trash cans that have been given to us by Reliable, are numbered and are assigned to each address, this includes those residents with more than one can. If you have a trash can that does not belong to you, we need to get it back to the correct address. If we can’t do that, the resident with the missing trash can will need to pay for a new one. They aren’t cheap.

If you question your trash can numbers, please get a hold of me and I’ll be happy to look up your can number so you can double check what you have is correct.

If anyone sees a Reliable can that isn’t where it’s supposed to be, please let me know. It could be one of your neighbors.

It’s best if everyone go ahead and jot down your trash can number just in case yours comes up missing.

Please email, call or text if you have questions. We need to get these cans back to their correct address.

Side note: these trash cans belong to the address, if you move, the cans stay with the house. If they are missing when a new owner takes possession, an invoice will be sent to the previous owner.

Good windy evening to everyone! I can’t wait for this annoying wind to die down. Now, I’m not techy AT ALL but I think our Netflix viewing has been hampered by this wind.

I’m reaching out tonight because we’re searching for the owner of this trampoline. It somehow got off course today and landed in the front of a resident’s home.

If you’re the owner or know who the owner is, let us know, we’d like to get it back to you! You can message here on Facebook, call or text!

Good afternoon everyone!

A resident reached out to me today to ask if this sweet faced chubby yellow cat belongs to anyone here in town. The cat seems to hang around the Harvest Lane area. The cat appears to be injured but the resident can’t get close enough to check it out.

If this cat belongs to you or you know who it belongs to, please drop me a message either here on Facebook Messenger or call/text and I can give you more info on where this baby is located.

Enjoy your sunny afternoon!

Good morning to all!

I received a call from our trash provider, Reliable Trash Company. They are kindly asking me to remind everyone that your trash cans must be set out by 6am every Friday morning to guarantee pick up. This will prevent your cans from being missed on trash day.

If your trash was set out before 6am and you were missed, please call me and I can see what I can do to help.

Hope everyone is doing great and is as excited as I am about the upcoming spring!

Call anytime with questions!

*Private Business decides whether employees need to report for work.
*No code dictates work stoppage for private business.

Road conditions will be reassessed tomorrow morning as Highway Department crews resume operations.

Please, if you do not need to be traveling, stay home. Check on your neighbors, especially the elderly. Make sure kids going outside to play are clothed properly and not outside for too long due to the frigid temperatures. Decatur PD officers will remain on duty 24/7, ready to respond if needed.

Good morning, Monroe!

I wanted to let you all know that I will not be working in the office on a regular basis for an extended period of time. I will be working from home most days. I am still available if you need anything, I’m just at home. Joyce is still working her usual Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, but her hours are afternoon and evenings. You can still leave messages on the office number but please know that your call may not be returned in a timely manner. Please don’t hesitate to call, send me a text, or email. You are not bothering me or interrupting anything. I am lucky enough to be able to perform most duties from home, that includes credit card payments over the phone for those that prefer that method.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we make this temporary transition.

Have a great day everyone!
