The Monroe County Forestry Committee was honored to attend the Ala-Tom RC&D Press Day held at the Monroe County Museum. Misty Powell (Monroe County 4-H Clubs) and Whitney Lowery (Monroe County Conservation District were both in attendance representing the committee. During the event, Misty Powell provided an update on how the FAWN (Forestry Awareness Week Now) program continues to benefit from grant funding received through Ala-Tom RC&D.

FAWN is a two-day educational event designed for 5th grade students across Monroe County, offering hands-on learning stations that promote forestry education and natural resource awareness. The Monroe County Forestry Committee is extremely appreciative of Ala-Tom RC&D and the continued investment they make in supporting programs that positively impact our community.
