Over the past several weekends, four members of Gregg Township Fire Department attended and successfully completed an ERDI Rope Rescue Technician course.

With the certification of these members, our department now has a total of 12 rope rescue technicians. Rope rescue serves as the foundation for many special operations and is one of the many advanced skills our members train in beyond the basics of firefighting and EMS.

Our members are committed to continually improving their knowledge and skills so we can be better prepared to respond to any emergency.

We want to send a big congratulations to one of our own, Angel Carter. Over the past few months, Angel has been working hard toward her NREMT certification, and we’re proud to share that she has successfully completed the course. Your dedication and commitment do not go unnoticed, and we are so proud to have you on our team. Congratulations, Angel.

A huge congratulations to all nine of our inaugural EMT class graduates! Not only did they all pass their written test on their first attempt, but they also passed their hands on skills portion on their first try!

🚒 Neighbors helping neighbors — that’s what the fire service is all about.

Engine 121 was dispatched to a residential home for a fire alarm. After arriving and determining there was no threat of fire, the crew took the opportunity to turn the call into a positive learning experience. The children of the home were invited to explore the engine, learn about the equipment, and get a closer look at firefighter gear. It was a great opportunity for Engine 121 to connect with the community and help teach the next generation about fire safety and the work firefighters do.

Today, we remember. We remember the lives taken, the bravery shown, and the families forever changed. We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and ordinary citizens who ran toward danger. We remember the sacrifice. And we carry that memory with pride and gratitude. Gregg Township Fire Department also extends our sincere thanks to Lillie’s Orthodontics of Mooresville for providing donuts to our crews today. Thank you for standing with us as we honor this day. Supporting our community beyond the firehouse.

Gregg Township Fire Department was honored to take Engine 121 out to support the Martinsville Music Department’s car wash fundraiser this weekend.

As a department, we’re always happy to support the young people in our Morgan County community, and it was especially meaningful to us this weekend, as one of the orchestra students is the daughter of one of our own firefighters.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to show up and support the students who work so hard to share their talents with our community.

We may serve Gregg Township, but our community reaches far beyond our firehouse doors.

🔥 TRAINING NEVER STOPS 🔥

Gregg Township Fire Department would like to congratulate Fire Chief Rob Stecher on completing the Fire Chief Executive Training Program through the Indiana Fire & Public Safety Academy

Chief Stecher spent the past week continuing his education and professional development, focusing on the leadership, management, and organizational responsibilities that come with serving as a fire chief.

Leading a fire department involves much more than responding to emergencies. It requires planning for the future, managing resources, developing personnel, making difficult decisions, and ensuring that the department remains prepared to meet the changing needs of the community.

We appreciate Chief Stecher’s continued dedication to improving himself as a leader and investing the time necessary to better serve the department and the citizens of Gregg Township.
