Our third, out of four educational programs for new and existing landowners, is set for November 15th and will focus on Pasture Management. The event time will be 9 a.m. to noon with a lunch being sponsored by Montague County Farm Bureau and will be located at the Montague County Annex at 11339 TX-59 Montague, TX 76251. Please RSVP for the event at [email protected] or call 940-894-2831.

The focus will be on the management of warm season pastures for improved and native grasses. Yes, rain can play a very important role in our management decisions, but we need to look at the physical attributes we can manage from an educated standpoint. Education will focus on Mechanical, Biological, Herbicide, and Fire for management of weeds and brush. Education on how our Soils work and how to use the test results and technology to help alleviate some of the missing parts of soil chemistry.

Part four will take place in the spring when we tour county farms and ranches to see how all things come together to make improvement for your property.
