Nishuane Park I am a park. I have tennis courts, baseball fields, a pool, a basketball court, and a playground for you to enjoy. I'm also home to the King Memorial.

If you visit by car, you may park on the street on in the parking lot near the Memorial. Google Map:

Nishuane Park in Montclair, NJ is located on Cedar Avenue between High Street and Harrison Avenue. It's 17.66 acres include 6 tennis courts, a softball diamond, a baseball diamond, a foo

tball field, a nature area (Carey's Woods), 2.5 basketball courts, two swimming pools, rest rooms, a coasting area, a children's playground, a parking lot, footpaths, and an outdoor stage. The park is ideal for swimming, tennis, basketball, softball, baseball, football, soccer, coasting, playground, band concerts, hiking, and bird watching. Carey's Woods closes at sundown. A permit must be obtained for any organized activity in the parks. Contact the Parks and Shade Tree Division at 973-509-5702. Cooking is not permitted in township parks. Glass containers are not permitted in parks - they may not be carried or used. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Dogs must be on a lease. No dogs are permitted in the children's playground.

POOL UPDATE

Due to the scope of construction at Essex and Nishuane Parks, Mountainside Pool will open on Saturday, May 28, 2022 and operate on weekends until June 28, 2022. Pool hours will be 11am to 8pm. On June 29, 2022, we anticipate to open Nishuane and Essex Pools depending on the completion of the construction surrounding the pool areas. We will be providing updated information about the construction work.

Pool Fees:

$250 Family (2 Adults and 2+ children or a single parent with 3+ children)

$85 Adult

$60 Child/Youth

$25 Senior

$85 Caregiver (must be purchased with a pool membership)

Daily passes/guests will not be permitted at the pool. All persons must be Montclair resident pool members.

Register at www.Register.Communitypass.net/Montclair Proof of residency is required for registration.

The Rec dept says, "Resurfacing of the Nishuane tennis courts will take place sometime in late spring/summer. During the time of the renovations, the Nishuane courts will be closed and reopened when work is completed."

Saturday April 24th (tomorrow!) is Earth Day / Parks Appreciation weekend! We're going to get together and spruce up the park, and I've heard pizza might be involved.

Come by at 9am to the parking off Cedar Ave behind the firehouse. Wear your mask of course, and bring gloves and a rake if you got 'em. Leaf bags will be provided.
