The position to be filled is a 2-year term

MRFPD is always recruiting new volunteers - we have 2 opportunities. The first is the original volunteer who lives in our district and can respond to an incident from home (or work if they work in the district).

The second are volunteers who come from another department or the academy already trained on things and having their FF1. Those individuals spend a 24 hour shift in the station for a stipend depending on experience. We have four stipend levels - basically trained: those with EMT credentialing and those with Class A/B/endorsed drivers; and Captain/Engineer types.

All Volunteers are to spend time training every Thursday night from 7-10 p.m. except some holidays.

Fire Crews are on the job.

ATTENTION WEST SONOMA COUNTY:
🚒🚒🚨🔥 Structure Fire/Vegetation Fire in the 19000 BLK of Fort Ross Road in Fort Ross. Multiple Fire apparatus on scene, Local Agencies and CalFire working together to mitigate the event, including Helicopter HENRY1, and local Private Water Tenders. The Vegetation fire is contained and they are all working hard to get the Structure Fire Knocked Down. Keep Checking back to this post for updates before calling Fire Dispatch for information.
