UPDATE 4/25/26: 🕯️ We are heartbroken to learn that Kaden Sites has been found. Our hearts are with all who knew and loved him. May Kaden rest in peace. Many thanks to all who shared his picture and helped search for him.
🛑TODAY’S UPDATE REGARDING , KADEN SITES:
From the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Department:
“The search continues for missing CO man, Kaden Sites. Search operations continued most of the evening of 04-17-26 with approximately 130 searchers in the area. Weather conditions made searching, particularly aerial, tricky but our team powered through and covered a lot of miles. Approximately 1,500 man/women hours were spent searching yesterday. Unfortunately, Kaden has not been found.
Approximately 80 searchers are out ‘ground pounding and gridding’ this morning including additional drone teams and mules. We have called in many more technical teams with specialized technological advantages. There are also several specialized searchers organized by the family involved in efforts that are in complete cooperation with our management team so we can keep track of everyone and where they have searched.
Organizations joining the search efforts today include the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office, Chaffee County Office of Emergency Management, Chaffee County Search and Rescue (North and South), Colorado Search and Rescue, Colorado Department of Corrections, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Mesa County Search and Rescue, Park County Search and Rescue, Western Mountain Rescue (Gunnison County), Pueblo Search and Rescue, Teller County Search and Rescue, Lake County Search and Rescue, Custer County Search and Rescue, Summit County Search and Rescue and Boulder Emergency Squad.
We continue to appreciate the outpouring of support from the community keeping our responders fed, sheltered, equipped and hydrated.
‘Please continue to keep the searchers and family members in your positive thoughts. Our team is determined as ever and staying strong. Please continue to stay out of the area. Yesterday we did have a few citizens go up to the area to search on their own and our teams had to be diverted to them because they were not on our list. We appreciate all the community’s support and willingness to jump in and help but we do not want our team’s attention on anything other than finding Kaden. We love you Chaffee County.’ -Sheriff Andy Rohrich”
