Yesterday afternoon around 4 pm Montello Fire Department was paged to Fox Lane south of town for a reported structure fire. Units arrived on scene and found heavy smoke and fire coming from the building. An interior attack was initiated but after heavy fire in the ceiling and roof area with partial collapse personnel were evacuated and the attack went exterior defense. Due to the size and scope of fire a box alarm was struck with the need for extra resources. Montello fire dept would like to thank Westfield fire Dept, Endeavor fire Dept, Harrisville fire Dept, Oxford fire Dept , Pardeeville fire Dept, Princeton fire Dept,Marquette county Sheriff’s Dept, Marquette county EMS for all their assistance with this incident. The building is a total loss and there is still an ongoing investigation into the cause of the fire. The Montello Fire Dept would also like to thank Montello Kwik Trip and Rendezvous’s in Montello for the donation of food and water for all the personal on scene.

The Montello Public Works Dept has started flushing water mains as of 6/24 if you start having issues with your water please check your screens on your faucets before calling city hall!

Montello Fire Dept would like to thank Marquette County Sheriffs Dept , Marquette County EMS, UW Medflight for all their hard work with the difficult extrication 10-50 Sunday night. The latest news the patient is doing good. Great job by all.
