Marquette County Emergency Medical Service is owned and operated by Marquette County. The ambulances service the majority of Marquette County as well as one township in Adams County. Marquette County has 457 square miles with a full-time population of 15,383. The full-time population of the contracted townships is 1,974. In the summer months, these numbers are substantially larger due to the many

tourists. The service is staffed with 19 full-time employees; which includes a Director an Assistant Director and 17 full-time Paramedics and EMT's. We respond to 1,500 calls annually and currently the service operates three ambulances and a jump vehicle that are fully equipped to handle all types of medical and traumatic emergencies. The service is licensed with the State of Wisconsin at the Paramedic level. Our Paramedics can provide a number of medications for cardiac and respiratory emergencies as well as defibrillation for cardiac arrest. All ambulances are equipped to meet state and federal standards and are inspected annually by the state.

This week, we proudly honor the unseen heroes who keep our EMS teams moving and our communities safe — our public safety telecommunicators.

Every day, these professionals answer urgent calls, gather critical information, and guide callers through their worst moments with calm, steady voices. They are the lifeline between the public and first responders, ensuring help gets where it needs to go quickly and safely. Their work is essential to every EMS response, every rescue, and every life saved.

To our dispatchers:
Thank you for your dedication, your professionalism, and your unwavering commitment to serving others. You are the first, first responders — and we couldn’t do our job without you.

🚑💛 Happy National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week!
We appreciate you today and every day.
