Not your typical night for Officer Camargo and Officer Duque.
Drunk driver #1 crashes into drunk driver #2 and flees the scene. Drunk driver #2 follows drunk driver #1 as they dial 911 to report the incident to CHP. Eventually drunk driver #1 is involved in a separate collision with three other vehicles, disabling all vehicles. Drunk driver #2 arrives to the scene and tells CHP officers about the previous hit & run collision they were involved with drunk driver #1. CHP officers see that drunk driver #2 is under the influence. As Officer Camargo and Officer Duque are investigating, drunk driver #3 decides to drive through a freeway closure that was set up due to the big traffic collision. And what happens next? Officers notice drunk driver #3 is also under the influence. Subsequently, all three drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol! 🚔🚨🚓
Being New Year’s Eve, we would like to remind everybody to celebrate responsibly. If you’re going to drink, don’t drive. Use ride share apps or have a designated a sober driver. You don’t want to wake up in a jail cell on New Years Day. Happy New Year from CHP East LA!
