This infrastructure requires proactive maintenance to ensure 24/7 reliability and to avoid costly emergency repairs in the future. Visit MontereyOneWater.org/Rates to learn more about how we put your rates to work.

Keep the Sizzle on the Grill, Not in Your Drains.

Did you know fats and grease from cooking meats can build up inside sewer pipes and cause clogs and backups? Keep fats, oils, and grease (FOG) out of your drains

🥓 Trash cooled cooking oil and grease
🍳 Green Cart food scraps without a bag
🚫 Skip the garbage disposal - it doesn’t remove grease and can make sewer clogs worse

Providing safe, reliable wastewater service for our community requires long‑term planning and ongoing investment in the system we all depend on. Like other agencies across California, Monterey One Water is facing rising costs related to delivering wastewater service, including:

▪️ Energy, materials, and workforce investments
▪️ Aging infrastructure in need of repair or replacement
▪️ Complying with evolving state and federal regulatory requirements

To meet these rising costs and continue delivering reliable wastewater service for years to come, M1W has proposed rate changes.
