"These two books are part of Kennedy Ryan's Hollywood Renaissance series, which centers around the world of film, music, art, and Black excellence. This isn't your typical lighthearted romance books. The characters are complex, the chemistry is electric, and real issues (i.e., mental health) are woven in with intention and care. The love connection between the characters was heartwarming, especially because their relationship involved resurfacing old wounds and gaining closure. The emotional depth she created and the care she meticulously brought to writing about difficult topics are evident throughout both novels. The author does an amazing job transporting us to the Hollywood Renaissance world. and I was so immersed in these books I couldn't put them down! I highly recommend this as your next read."
