The National Naval Officers Association actively supports the Sea Services in the development of a diverse officer corps through recruitment, retention, and career development. NNOA is essential in maintaining operational readiness by providing professional development, mentoring and support of cultural awareness. NNOA establishes and maintains a positive image of the Sea Services in communities a

nd educational institutions. NNOA of Monterey is a military organization comprised of "All Kinds of People." Our Chapter is located at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, California. Here at NPS we collaborate with members of all five service branches which allows us the opportunity to build a strong bond with individuals within the different services and provide our members with a wide range of professional development opportunities from various senior leaders. Our reason for existence can be summed up five bullets:
Assist in establishing and maintaining a positive image of the naval services in the community.
- Improve and assist in minority officer recruitment, retention and professional development.
- Identify minority problem areas and bring them to the attention of cognizant authorities.
- Encourage maximum minority participation in all areas of the services and related military organizations.
- Promote camaraderie

The NNOA Monterey Chapter is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which proudly supports the Safe Place program with providing mentorship and nutrition to runaway and homeless youth. We also provide California's graduating students applying to colleges and universities with scholarship awards. Such support and awards are made possible through our generous donors. If you are interested in joining our efforts, please contact us about making a tax deductible donation or send any such donations to the address listed below:

The past month has been a blast. From sharing laughs to uniting officers across various branches, our recent activities have truly embodied the spirit of camaraderie and service.

This month, we've had the pleasure of engaging with the Village Project Inc., contributing to our community in meaningful ways. It's moments like these that reinforce the importance of our mission: to serve, support, and strengthen not just our military family but also our community ties.
