The recent flood left behind a bunch of trash and I'm organizing a community clean-up to help our little town. Meet at Monterey Park on March 29 at 9am. We'll divide into groups and cleanup around town. The county willl provide bags and gloves. Hope you can join us!

Flood waters can be difficult to see during the day; impossible to see at night!

Expect widespread rain lasting through midday Sunday.

Rain will be moderate to heavy at times, including through tonight.

Amounts will range from 2-5+ inches. Local amounts higher.

Significate flooding with considerable impacts possible.

Widespread areal, river, and scattered flash flooding are possible where the heaviest rain falls.

🚨1/6/25 UPDATE 🚨
Owen County, Kentucky is now under Level 2 Snow Emergency effective at 5:30 P.M. on January 6,2025.
Level Two: Roadways are hazardous with blowing snow and drifting snow. Only motorists whose travel is absolutely necessary should be on roadways. Residents are urged to contact their employers to see if they should report to work.

🚨Owen County is now under a level 3 snow emergency.🚨
Level Three: All roadways are restricted to non-emergency personnel, and travel for work provisions, medical supplies, or medical treatment. All employees should contact their employer concerning work schedules. Essential travel only advised. Violators are subject to prosecution.

A BIG shout out for The Monterey Baptist Church members who came by the firehouse with a delicious meal to feed firefighters last night. It was certainly enjoyed by all, especially on a cold snowy night. Again, thank you for your support for the fire department and the community. Bless you all.

Following the news that three crew members were killed in a helicopter crash in Owenton, Kentucky on Monday in route to pick up a patient, funeral arrangements have been announced.
