Earlier today, our deputies responded to multiple reports of a traffic hazard in the 100 block of Monte Elma Road involving an elderly female traveling in the roadway on a mobility scooter.

Grays Harbor County Roads crews actually located her first and were able to safely get her off the roadway while deputies responded. We appreciate their quick actions and teamwork in helping keep her safe.

When deputies contacted her, they quickly learned there was a little more to the story. She was trying to make it to the store to get some ice cream… but her mobility scooter was running out of power! 🍦

Lt. Heller stayed with her while Deputy Jason Peterson made a quick trip to the store for the most important part of the mission: ice cream!

Once additional deputies arrived, they were able to safely get her and her ice cream home.

This is what being a deputy is all about. Sometimes it’s responding to serious calls, and sometimes it’s making sure someone gets home safely with a little ice cream along the way.

I’m proud of Lt. Heller, Deputy Peterson, the other deputies who also responded and our partners at County Roads for taking care of one of our community members today. Great job, everyone! 👏🚔🍦

*** Proud of Our Team ***

Over the last three years, we have seen significant reductions in crime across Grays Harbor County—and I couldn’t be more proud of the men and women of the Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office who made this possible.

📉 Burglary: Down 39%
📉 Theft: Down 32%
📉 Vehicle Theft: Down 45%
📉 Domestic Violence: Down 28%
📉 Assaults: Down 45%
📉 Shootings: Down 50%

These numbers represent more than statistics. They represent victims who never had to experience a crime, families who feel safer in their homes, businesses that are better protected, and communities where people can live, work, and raise their families with greater confidence.

This progress doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from the dedication, professionalism, and hard work of our deputies, corrections deputies, support staff, dispatchers, partner agencies and our many community partners.

As Sheriff, I am incredibly proud of this team and grateful for the trust and support our community continues to give us.

We will continue working every day to make Grays Harbor County safer.

Safer Today. Stronger Tomorrow.

🚲☀️ Proactive Patrol on North Beach!

Deputy Eaton took advantage of the sunshine today and hit the North Beach area on bicycle patrol! 🚲

Bicycle patrol gives our deputies a great opportunity to get out of the patrol vehicle, connect with the community, and keep an eye on the areas where people are enjoying the summer weather.

Whether on four wheels or two, our deputies are out there working to keep our communities safe. If you see Deputy Eaton out on patrol, give him a wave! 👋

Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine! ☀️

***DTF SEARCH WARRANT***

Earlier today the Grays Harbor Drug Task Force, with the assistance of the Aberdeen Special Response Team (SRT), served a search warrant in the 3700 block of Wishkah Road after a month-long investigation into the sales of illegal narcotics and the unlawful possession of fi****ms.

Because fi****ms were believed to be involved, the Aberdeen Special Response Team made entry into the residence utilizing their armored vehicle for cover and safely took the suspect into custody.

During the search of the residence detectives located 12 fi****ms that were later seized as evidence. The 63-year-old suspect, who was the owner of the residence, was booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail for delivery of a controlled substance and multiple counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.

Through the investigation detectives developed probable cause for a second subject who lives at the location. He will be located, arrested, and booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail for unlawful possession of a firearm as well.

This is just another example of the teamwork that takes place among Grays Harbor County Law Enforcement to rid criminal behavior and hold criminals accountable.

Yesterday, 7/30/26, the Grays Harbor Drug Task Force arrested a 32 year old Aberdeen resident on multiple counts of delivery of a controlled substance after conducting a two month long investigation into the sales of narcotics.

During the service of a search warrant on his vehicle and storage unit detectives located over $53,000 in cash.

The money was separated in a way that is indicative of drug purchasing so an accurate amount of money can be transferred and counted in a short amount of time to check its accuracy. Included in the money located was money the Drug Task Force used to buy illegal drugs from the suspect.

The Drug Task Force learned through their investigation that the suspect was currently out of drugs and was planning on traveling out of the county to buy multiple pounds of fentanyl and methamphetamine to bring back and poison our community.

Detectives also learned from their investigation that the suspect was living in free housing provided by the Washington State Department of Corrections after his recent release from prison for a Manslaughter 2nd degree conviction. This manslaughter charge stemmed from a 2019 Grays Harbor County case where the suspect shot and killed an individual who he claimed was trying to assault him and steal his drugs.

The suspect was booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail for multiple counts of delivery of a controlled substance.

This is just another example of the hard work of our Grays Harbor Drug Task Force detectives do to keep our community safe. We appreciate their dedication into combatting illegal drugs being brought into our community.
