Hello from the Montevallo Junior City Council members!
We know that the past couple of weeks have been a new experience for everyone and want to offer our sympathies for all those affected by this outbreak. Our members have been practicing social distancing and have been holding meetings on zoom. We ask all those in the Montevallo area and even those around Alabama to practice social distancing. Remember to stay safe and continue to wash your hands thoroughly. Together we can get through these times and we are sending positive thoughts to all! If you have any questions about social distancing or want to know more about MJCC please let us know. Thank You!

City of Montevallo

Good news ahead! We would first like to thank everyone for being so patient with us as we work out some issues with the city's garbage service! And we hope you're all as excited as we are to learn about the changes coming with that service.

1. These changes take effect on 9/29/2019.

2. Your garbage service day will probably change. Trash will now be collected on different days throughout the week -- it all depends on where you live! Go to www.cityofmontevallo.com to find out what your new service day is.

3. There will no longer be curbside recycling, but we hope everyone will take advantage of Montevallo's recycling center located at the intersection of Overland Road and Spring Creek Road, open 24/7.

4. WastePro will be collecting your recycling carts! After you put your recycling on the road just leave it! Someone will be by to pick up the can. The last dates for recycling are 10/4 and 10/11, depending on your regularly scheduled recycling pick-up.

If you have any questions, please visit www.cityofmontevallo.com or call City Hall.

Congratulations Mrs. Hollie!

For some #MondayMotivation, we want to say congratulations again to the Mayor of Montevallo, Dr. Hollie Cost, on being named the recipient of the 2019 Jean O'Connor-Snyder Award for her incredible work engaging youth and inspiring them to make their voices heard!

Dr. Cost has been instrumental in facilitating civic education initiatives for Montevallo’s youth through initiatives such as Students’ Institute and the Montevallo Junior City Council, and the recognition is much-deserved! 💙
