Thanks, Avery, our newly elected Junior Mayor Pro Tempore, for reporting at the City of Montevallo's City Council meeting. She reminded everyone that the MJCC is currently taking applications. The opportunity is open to all Montevallo youth, 8th - 12th grades. Youth do not have to attend public schools, but must live in the community. We were out helping the Montevallo Chamber of Commerce deliver Chatters to businesses today and spotted some of the ducks that Impact Montevallo hid last week. Get out and enjoy this beautiful day and community and grab a duck along the way.

In collaboration with the Backyard Bookfest the Montevallo Junior City Council has decided to host a Birdhouse Painting Competition! The Birdhouse designs must have a literary theme to reflect the collaboration.

There will be a silent auction at the Backyard Bookfest where all participating birdhouses will be auctioned off. Proceeds will go to the Parnell Memorial Library.

We will have a small panel of judges to decide on a first, second, and third place winner! There will also be a MJCC favorite award.

First place will receive $200
Second place will receive $150
Third place will receive $100
MJCC' Favorite will receive $50

🐦🏠🏆 YOU CAN WIN $ FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION! Join our Bird House Painting Contest, have fun, support the library and possibly win! In collaboration with the Backyard BookFest and Impact Montevallo, MJCC is hosting a fun Contest. We will provide the birdhouses, you provide the creativity. The winning houses will earn CASH and the houses will be donated to the Parnell Memorial Library Foundation to be auctioned off at the Backyard BookFest. All houses will need to be completed and turned in by March 12. Last week we were able to have the Montevallo Middle School leader of tomorrow come to City Hall so we could give them a look into what MJCC does! They presented ideas for events, tried making cotton candy, talked to our SRO's, and did team building exercises!
