🚒 JOIN THE TEAM: BECOME A CITIZEN FIREFIGHTER! 🚒
Do you want to serve the Montevideo community but don't have the time to complete the full Firefighter I & II certification? The MFD is looking for dedicated individuals to join us as Citizen Firefighters!

As a Citizen Firefighter, you are an essential part of our team, providing vital support to our trained firefighters where it’s needed most.

What You’ll Do:
- Assist on the Fire Ground: Support trained crews during active calls with limited, safe, and necessary duties.
- Stay Connected: Carry a pager and respond to calls when you’re available.
- Keep Growing: Attend monthly meetings and training sessions to sharpen your skills.

The Details:
- No Firefighter I & II Required: You get to help without the full training commitment.
- Requirement: Must be 18+ years old.
- Perfect For: Anyone interested in firefighting who wants to make a real difference in their community.

📝 HOW TO APPLY
Applications can be picked up at City Hall during the following window:
📅 Opening Date: May 11th
📅 Closing Date: May 22nd

Program will run from June 1st - July 31st on a trial basis.

Tonight's training focused on Self Contain Breathing Apparatus, Rapid Intervention Teams, search and rescue of victims and down firefighter training. Thanks to Montevideo Public Schools for allowing us to use your space, we tried to leave it as we found it! If you look closely it's not always best to be the Chief's kids, you'll get turned into training dummies! Another great night of training!

MFD has had the privilege to train with the Minnesota Air Rescue Team. This team is highly specialized for situations just like this one near Plainview, MN. Great work team!
