Due to the current fire weather concerns, and the lack of rain in the forecast no burn permits will be issued in the Town of Montgomery until we receive a considerable amount of rain.

We are currently advising against any burning unless fully contained.

We are entering this time of year again! There has been over a dozen reported out of controls fires across the state already today. This time of year even a small contained fire can easily spread.

If you would like to burn please contact the Montgomery Town Fire Warden to obtain a permit.

The road is now open.

Be advised that West Hill Road is closed from the intersection of Enosburg Mountain Road up while we deal with a structure fire. The road will most likely be closed for most of the day.

Be advised that water is going over the road on 242 between Hannah Clark Brook Road and Amidon Road. VTRANS is on site.

Montgomery Fire and First Response will be hosting a Vermont Emergency First Responder course. This is a 2 day course, in which participants will be certified at the state level to provide basic first aid, and potentially life saving interventions, including CPR, to those in need. Day 1 will be all didactic learning and Day 2 will be hands on skill learning.

The cost of this class is $100.

We are always looking for new volunteers, and this could be the start for you!

The State of Vermont lifted the burn ban. Fire Wardens are now allowed to issue burn permits again.
