JOB OPENING: Onsite Septic System Inspector

Montgomery County Health Department is seeking an onsite septic system inspector to join our team. This position is part-time, and hours would vary according to septic applications, installations, and complaints that we receive. Most of the work can be completed remotely.

In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing septic system applications, conducting field inspections of new installations and repairs, and ensuring that all onsite wastewater treatment systems comply with state and local health codes. You will also investigate citizen complaints regarding failing systems and provide technical assistance to homeowners and licensed installers.

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Must possess (or ability to obtain within 6 months) a State Onsite Wastewater Certification/Installer Inspector Certification
• Must have the ability to navigate rugged terrain
• Experience with septic installation is a plus
