Yesterday the 29.66 transmitter became a GE that is doing 170 watts out. Currently it is in repeater mode with the receiver being on 444.900. Last year we had the 15 harmonic with the two frequencies but with this having more selectivity, we are going to give it a try again. If not I will be able to make a remote setting change and reuse Allstarlink for its tie in.

Thanks to K4MTP for this and Caleb (NoCallsignYet) who is also did his first tower climb with Mike and did a great job. Also Johnny KD3BGD, N3SSL, Dave (GMRS call but is planning to test soon for ham). There were several other projects worked on with over 8 hours of work time today.

I hear some key ups on 10 meters in the middle of the night almost every night (just a moment ago, for instance). PL is on as usual but just a key up. Drive by? Distant station?

I made it up to see what the damage was earlier today. I found the double bazooka that was sloped to the south was on the ground in one piece except for the SO239 connector as you can see in the picture. It appears that the paracord broke at the pulley, and it came down and ripped the SO239 apart. The coax is still up toward the top as you can see in the one picture. The other coiled up coax appears to be another piece that was left up there. The ice added some weight onto it for sure, and the extra winds that we had didn't help. The ice on the paracord was a couple of inches thick, but the wire was free of ice.

So we will be down to just the main receiver, which is a dipole on the north side, for a while. There may not be much difference noticed as the regular dipole gets most of the signals as well anyway. We are considering a couple of other voting receive sites that should help in some areas where the transmitter does better than the main receiver site.

Have a safe and healthy New Year!

We had some ice earlier in the week and the southern sloper antenna is not working but the north facing antenna is still working so things will still work until we can do something with the southern one. We are hoping to find a couple more receive sites. The transmitter does well over to Wilkes Barre but it didn't hear well over there, so something between here and there would be ideal and we may possibly be able to get a receiver just north of Lock Haven if all goes well. I have one voting package ready to go, I just need the antennas to go to them and a UHF antenna at the main receiver site that goes into the voter

29.660 voter here in Williamsport, PA. Left is the north antenna and right is the south antenna. From earlier today. A voter picks the better signal to noise ratio signal of the two and if it changes it will change also
