On May 31, 2026, 18-year-old Jy'Kavien Wright was shot and killed in the 600 block of McAlpine Street in Talladega.

🎓Jy'Kavien had just received his diploma from Talladega High School two weeks earlier.

What should have been the beginning of his future became a tragedy that has devastated his family, friends, and community.

The Alabama Department of Corrections is asking for the public’s help in locating an escaped inmate from the Mobile Community Work Center.

WHO TO LOOK FOR:
• Name: Jackie Anthony Boyett
• White Male Age: 41
• Height/Weight: 6’2”, 180 lbs
• Hair/Eyes: Brown / Brown
• Last Seen Wearing: Dark button-down shirt and dark pants.

Boyett was last seen around 10:35 a.m. on June 2 at a local tire shop. His absence was reported later that evening.

He is currently serving a 28-year sentence for First-Degree Robbery and was classified as a minimum custody inmate at the time of escape.
