This week for , we're spotlighting the Charlotte & Michael Sherman Memorial Scholarship Fund, which joined CFOSR in January 2026.

This scholarship supports students from Orange County who are pursuing an education in the health or education fields, helping the next generation of educators and healthcare professionals take the next step toward their goals.

We are especially grateful to share the news that the scholarship was awarded for the first time this year to a student studying healthcare!

Through this fund, Charlotte and Michael Sherman's legacy will continue by investing in students whose future careers have the potential to strengthen and care for our communities for years to come.

We’re excited to announce that the 2026–2027 Rockland Innovative Teaching Grant Program, sponsored by Optimum , is now accepting applications- so get ready to share this news with your favorite teacher! 🍎✨

This program encourages and recognizes teachers engaged in exciting, creative and innovative methods of instruction, and provides funding to implement them throughout Rockland County's K-12 public schools! 💡📚

Teachers can apply for:

- Individual Grants: $200–$500 (programs being implemented by one teacher)
- Group Grants: $500–$1,000 (programs being implemented by two or more teachers)

Grants can support materials, activities and projects that make learning more exciting and meaningful for students.

A heartfelt 💚 thank you to the Linda and Anthony Cellini Scholarship Fund for helping send 20 children from 13 Town of Thompson families to YMCA Camp this summer!

Established by family and friends to honor Linda and Anthony’s legacy, the fund continues their commitment to local children and families by making enriching summer experiences possible.

Following this year's Light It Up Blue event, we met with the wonderful staff at the Community Foundation of Orange, Sullivan & Rockland. Given the success that Hudson Valley Light It Up Blue has had over the past 15 years, they inspired us to think about how we can do even more.

With that encouragement, we are proud to announce that we have established the Max Moreno SUNY Orange BRIDGES Scholarship Fund.

With guidance from CFOSR, we’ve teamed up with the SUNY Orange BRIDGES Program at Orange County Community College - SUNY Orange to support students transitioning from high school into a welcoming learning environment, fostering their education and needs through a collaborative community and college partnership.

Our goal is to create a Legacy Fund, leaving an everlasting impact while assisting our neurodivergent community.

We cannot thank our supporters and sponsors enough. Without you, none of this is possible.

Through annual grants to the Montgomery Food Pantry, this fund supports efforts to address food insecurity in Orange County and help ensure local families have access to the resources they need.
