MINDFUL MONDAY MORNING CLUB is also a new club being offered this year to our students! This club meets on various Mondays (7:45-8:45am) from 9/21 - 2/8. This club is an opportunity for students to start their morning and week, in a calm and mindful way! Students will start their day with stretching, breathing exercises, and calming activities like coloring, puzzles, Legos, and MORE!! SCRAP A DOODLE DO - Are you interested in Scrapbooking/Journaling? This might be the club for you! This club meets on various Thursdays (7:45-8:45am) from 9/17 - 1/28 and will teach students how to create their own scrapbooks! There will be a limit of 30 students, and these spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. This club is currently being offered to students in grades 3-5. JOIN - Friendship Bracelet Making! This is one of Lakewood Creek's newest clubs and will meet on various Tuesdays (7:45-8:45am) - 9/15 - 2/16. Good morning Lakewood Creek families,
We want to let you know that our operations team is currently working to diagnose an issue that has caused an air-conditioning failure in some classrooms in our building. We will monitor temperatures regularly and relocate students as needed, in addition to providing extra water breaks. The district is also sending additional fans to the building to help with airflow.
Once we know more, we will be in touch. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to the main office.

ACTIVE INCIDENT MEDIA NOTIFICATION

The Montgomery Police Department is investigating an early-morning incident involving shots fired in the 2400 block of Mayfield Drive.

At approximately 4:00A, officers responded to a report of shots fired. The initial investigation has determined the shots were associated with a motor vehicle theft in progress. Local hospitals have reported no injuries.

LPR tracked the stolen vehicle out of the area. At this time, there is no assumed threat to the public. Police will maintain an ongoing presence in the area this morning while the investigation continues.

District 308 has been notified; however, school busing will not be delayed.

MPD is asking residents near the 2400 block of Mayfield Drive to check security camera footage from 3:30–4:10 a.m. for any activity that may assist investigators.
