This morning at 4AM, your FDM members were alerted to respond for a reported apartment fire with entrapment in Montgomery. Multiple callers reported a fire on the first floor with people trapped inside. Engine 102 responded and arrived on scene with smoke showing from the first floor. Residents advised the crew that the victim had been removed by bystanders and law enforcement prior to their arrival. Engine 102's crew deployed a 200 foot Inch and ¾ crosslay while also assigning personnel to provide patient care. Crews advanced the hoseline to the fire apartment and conducted a primary search ahead of the line, which proved to be unremarkable. Interior crews located a small fire within the apartment that had produced a heavy smoke condition. Crews quickly extinguished the remaining fire, then began overhaul and ventilation operations. Unfortunately, the patient who was removed from the structure succumbed to her injuries. We extend our deepest thoughts and prayers to her family and loved ones.

We would also like to thank Boomer Fire Department and Armstrong Creek Fire Department for their assistance on scene.

Yesterday at 11:50PM, your FDM members were alerted to respond for a reported fire in the laundry room at Montgomery Rehab and Nursing. Utility 107 was responding to a tree down at the same time and diverted to the fire. Utility 107 arrived with smoke showing from the building and sprinkler activation. Utility 107’s crew located a working fire in the laundry room with moderate smoke throughout. The crew made access to the fire and deployed a water can for fire suppression. Engine 102 arrived shortly after and deployed a 200ft Inch and ¾ crosslay. The crew was able to knock most of the fire with the can and utilized the handline for hotspots. Units from Montgomery, Boomer and Armstrong Creek Fire Department worked on overhaul and securing the utilities to the affected portion of the building. No injuries were reported and units returned to service around an hour and a half later.
