The Alabama Medicaid Agency (Medicaid) will perform planned system maintenance on the CARES Citizen Portal on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CST. Please plan ahead and submit Medicaid applications or renewals online before or after this maintenance period. If you need to apply or renew coverage on September 24th, you may visit a Medicaid district office or print an application from https://www.medicaid.alabama.gov. If you have questions, please call the toll-free number: 888-373-5437 (Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).

Alabama Medicaid will send a recorded call, text message and an email when it’s time to renew your Medicaid. Your renewal form will be sent to the mailing address on file.
